    Future leaders in reshaping an organization
    It is the interest of the researchers to find how the benchmarking of the future leaders in done in the Government-linked Companies GLCs. A mixed method approach has been selected as the research strategy to study the issues under investigations and the relationship between them. Six interviews with prominent experts are carried out to gather the items for the questionnaire. Then sets of constructed questionnaire are distributed to the managerial staff of Universiti Malaysia Perlis as a pilot study. To gather the data from GLCs, three Government-linked Investment Companies (GLICs) and fifteen GLCs have been identified as the samples. Then an interview with a prominent statesman is carried out, and focus group discussions with the top management representative are conducted to support the survey. The findings of the study indicate that the choice for future leadership dimensions are traits, behaviours, performance functions, competence, skills and background. These six leadership dimension qualities are desired in GLCs as the future leaders are expected to use their best endeavours to prompt or reshape the organizations.

    Social enterprise for school dropouts through digital lifestyles : adapting from USA success stories
    Digital lifestyle has become a culture that each and every of us has to adopt and adapt to. The stability of Malaysia’s economy makes the quality of its citizen’s education and standard of living improve along with the income ranks. On the other hand, there is still a huge problem with regards to the school dropouts that influence the quality of life and social impact in Malaysia. These school dropouts should be exposed to self-regulating and self-employing so that they can be independent and able to move forward themselves away from the perils of crime. By manipulating the current digital lifestyles, majority of the school dropouts are familiar with the Information and Communication technology (ICT), the Internet and mobile gadgets. This paper recommends that the Malaysian authorities should come out with a prototype of the business model of Social Enterprise (SE) in order to deal with school dropouts that prefer to run business online as their income to support their lives. Some adaptation from the successful SE in the United States of America (USA) could be adapted in order to match with the Malaysian scenarios. The authorities might also work out spin-off businesses through provision of seed funds, including from interested private sectors, to these youths.

    Top management perception on green innovation in Malaysian GLCs practice

    Today the environmental issues have influenced the organizations all over the world to innovate into green environment. Hence, Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) in Malaysia has to follow the green implementation trends in doing businesses either locally or globally. This study explores the perception of the top management in GLCs towards green innovation implementation in their organizations, and the reason of the implemention for the compacies that already employ the green innovation. This is a multiple case studies where the organizations selected are according to the categories of the GLCs industries. Data are collected from the interviews conducted with the top managers of the GLCs at their offices. The findings show that green innovation is implemented by the top management direction where they make the current organizational frugal innovation into green. The implementation outcome provides the GLCs with organizational sustainability through the image, branding and more green projects in the future as they are being the leader in their industries.

    The impact of green innovation on top management leadership attributes

    The main reason businesses need to innovate is due to its necessity to sustain and survive, and not for the matter of how brilliant and visionary the leaders of the organization are. Innovation has known for its very significant role in the organization progression and growth. Innovation can happen in the products, processes, and services being embark by organizations to make more profit by reducing operational cost and making processes more efficient. The concern over the environment all around the world has encouraged innovation to be more tailored to the “green”. “Green” is a name that being associated with anything or any action that has impact to the environment such as green building, green government and green innovation. This paper will discuss the impact of green innovation to the top management leadership attributes in the Governmentlinked Companies (GLCs) in Malaysia. The leadership must be sensitive and understand the green demand and situational in the Malaysia and around the world with respect to the industries that these GLCs are operated. This is where the top management leadership attributes will be justified to fit the green innovation implementation. This constructive research is a qualitative multicases study. Data collection is done via interviews, focus group discussion and document analysis. The result will be analyzed to see the themes emerge from the data before the analysis being interpreted.

    This research aims to investigate the adoption of 5G technology within the agricultural sector, specifically among rice farmers in Kedah, Malaysia, and understand the demographic disparities in 5G adoption. It also addresses the challenge of equitable 5G technology adoption and explores how demographic factors such as gender, age, ethnicity, and income levels influence adoption patterns. A mixed-methods approach, comprising surveys, interviews, and field observations, is employed to collect data from a diverse sample of farmers. The study utilizes theoretical frameworks related to automation, productivity, and connectivity to analyze the impact of 5G technology on agricultural practices. Only descriptive analysis of demographic characteristics will be reported after the survey is conducted using a questionnaire through the What'sApp application. The research reveals significant gender imbalances in adoption rates, with implications for equitable access to technological advancements. It also highlights the influence of age and income on adoption patterns. The study underscores the importance of tailored strategies to ensure the adoption of inclusive 5G technology in the agricultural sector.

    An insight into the influence of HRM practices on employees’ satisfaction in the manufacturing company

    The manufacturing industry has been and continues to be the bedrock of the Malaysian economy. A business that integrates a harmonious employer-employee relationship leads to an ideal path, driving a successful and profitable venture. Principal role of a company’s management is to develop and manage the human capital element, taking care of employees’ welfare, considering their resourcefulness in terms of knowledge and skills for effectively contributing to the organisational’s objectives. There are several attributes that link and influence employees with job satisfaction. The objective of this research study is to examine the link and influence of human resource management (HRM) practices, such as training, compensation, safety & health, and performance appraisal, on job satisfaction among employees in a manufacturing company located in Kulim, Kedah. A total of 328 employee-respondents took part in this research study and the questionnaires were distributed through their HRM office. Data collection was received online with the aid of Google forms. The research analyses were performed by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), version 22. Results indicated that performance appraisal created the most significant influence on employees’ satisfaction (β=0.278, t=3.668, p<0.05), followed by compensation (β=0.229, t=3.741, p=0.000), and lastly safety & health (β=0.180, t=2.756, p<0.05). We did not observe any significant influence with regards to the link between training and employee satisfaction (β=0.089, t=1.431, p>0.05). Finally, in the conclusion section, few suggestions to increase the level of employees’ satisfaction based on this study have been highlighted.
