PublicationInvestigation on the Effect of Industrial Hygiene towards Innovation Performance: A Case of the Construction Industry in Malaysia( 2020-06-10)
;Zainol N.Z. ; ; ;Ibrahim F.A.The construction industry is growing extraordinarily, progressive and profitable. It is one of the topmost sectors that contribute to the economy of a country. Even so, it is the riskiest industry as construction workplace has the highest number of fatality and injuries. Safety and health issues remain critical to the construction industry due to its working environment and the complexity of working practices. When related to health, hygiene is one factor to be observed, in which safety is a primary concern in the construction sector. Hygiene, being part of safety and health management in site plays a significant role in the performance of an organization. At some extent, ignorance of hygiene resulted catastrophically. The present study found the influence of industry hygiene towards innovation performance in the construction industry. The industrial hygiene which measured through few dimensions, i.e. hygiene knowledge, personal hygiene behaviour and hygiene personnel protection equipment are tested against innovation performance as the dependent variable. Following the comprehensive reviews, it is pertinent for the research to choose a quantitative undertaking, where questionnaires survey is the primary tool to collect the data among the construction companies, i.e., developers and contractors that registered with CIDB. The instrument will be developed to investigate the influence of industrial hygiene practices toward innovation performance. The research objectives will be achieved by statistically analyzing the collected data with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to verify the relationship between the variables.1 37 -
PublicationEvaluation using fuzzy delphi method (FDM) on management practices and performance in Malaysian public sectorThis study intends to obtain questionnaire item suitability in evaluating the effectiveness of management practices (talent, innovation and knowledge) towards performance of organisation with indirect effect of top management commitment and dynamic capabilities. A set of questionnaires consisting of 111 items from 6 constructs related to this study were compiled based on the literature search. Deciding the appropriate items in a construct is crucial in conducting survey. Including inappropriate items and excluding significant items in the questionnaire will certainly alter the direction of a study. The Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM) was used to reinforce unanimity agreements among the expert panel regarding each item's suitability. The panel consists of 18 experts from subject matter expert of professional or practitioner who worked or experienced in the respected matters and academician of the related field. The validation process simulated recent FDM which used Triangular Fuzzy Numbers as well as Defuzzification concept. FDM analysis result found that the first prerequisite (threshold value of d≤0.2) and the second prerequisite (expert consensus greater than 75%) were fulfilled, therefore all the 111 items were accepted. The instruments content is valid for this study to proceed the investigation of the management practices effectiveness towards performance of organisation with indirect effect of top management commitment and dynamic capabilities.

PublicationPerformance evaluation on locomotion system, body size and hull design on amphibious-based design of unmanned ground vehicle using Taguchi method(AIP Publishing, 2023)
;Mohd Iqhwan Izhar ; ; ;Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) is a robotic structured-based vehicle that operated on the ground but did not contain any human on board. It controlled either autonomously or remote controlled by a human operator from a distance. The operator observes the situation by using a camera that contains live feed that had been attached to the UGV. More advanced version of UGV is called "Autonomous UGV", where it controlled fully by sensors system. Thus, make this version of UGV highly reliable in replacing human for doing jobs in hazardous area or a place that is impossible for human to reach. This paper study the performance evaluation of UGV in term of their locomotion system, body size and hull design by using Taguchi method. The current UGV design under study is less flexible as it only operates on land. The objective of this study is to identify the optimal design parameters of the UGV towards amphibious functionality development. This study bridge the gap between engineering and management perspectives in reducing the time needed to perform testing on new design and reducing cost of experiment by using the Taguchi Method. The result shows that the ideal parameters design combination based on the signal-to-noise ratio calculated using the larger the better formula is the wheeled locomotion system with 350 X 250 X 200 dimension of body size and round-bottom shape of hull design.16 4 -
PublicationProduct pairing selection for promotion using partitioning method(Semarak Ilmu Publishing, 2023)
; ;Raveena Subramaniam ;Erni Puspanantasari Putri ; ; ; ;Yussof Hussin ; ;Emy Aizat AzimiSiti Sharina Mohd ShukriSlow-moving product is harmful to the business. The slow-moving products take up space and tie up the company’s capital and leave the company with fewer funds to invest in its business. Several factors can cause this issue. There are several methods ranging from statistics to heuristic methods for a company to identify slow-moving inventory but all of them rely on data. In this paper, a partitioning technique from the graph network is proposed to partition the inventories or products into a few clusters. It can help the company to identify what group does the product belongs to and at the same time suggest to the company which product can be paired up or bundled up together to clear up aging and slow-moving products. The partition technique is proposed, and the algorithm is coded using the Visual C++ programming language. The simulation results show that the proposed method can partition the task graph onto smaller subgraphs. The subgraphs called cluster consists of the nodes or products with similar purchase volume (the strong connection between the two nodes). Implementing the partitioning technique could help the companies or managers select the appropriate product to be paired together when doing the promotion.1 15 -
