PublicationRevealing the Moderating Role of Organizational Support in HR Professionals’ Competencies, Willingness, and Effectiveness Relationship: Empirical Evidence From a Developing Economy( 2022-07-05)
;Ahmad AA. ;Fareed M. ;Isa M.F.M.Human resources management is essential to ensure the success of any organization which is based on the belief that an organization gains competitive advantage by using its people effectively and efficiently. But HR professionals need organizational support to make the employees more committed and passionate about their work. In this study, the researchers aim to examine the moderating effect of organizational support in the relationship between human resource (HR) professionals’ competencies, HR professionals’ willingness, and HR professionals’ effectiveness. HR Professionals’ competencies such as credible activist, talent manager, culture and change steward, strategy architect, business ally, and operational executor nurture HR professionals’ effectiveness. Besides, HR professionals’ willingness is a significant predictor of HR professionals’ effectiveness. To test the relationships, the researcher collected data through survey questionnaire from 183 managers from commercial banks of Pakistan. For statistical analysis, Partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) is used to analyze the data and test the hypotheses. The findings reveal the positive and significant impact of HR professionals’ competencies and HR professionals’ willingness on HR professionals’ effectiveness. Additionally, the moderating impact of organizational support was also significant among HR professionals’ competencies, HR professionals’ willingness, and HR professionals’ effectiveness relationship. The study contributes in the literature of HR professionals’ effectiveness and organizational support in the banking sector of local context. The study also discusses the implications and future directions. One of them is that the research framework provides guidelines for HR professionals about what competencies are needed to enhance HR professional effectiveness. The present study recommends HR professionals of the banking sector to be involved in strategic planning and implementation in their organization. -

Likewise, HR professionals have to successfully manage human resources, need personal credibility and business knowledge, understanding of the business strategies, adapting with technology changes and the ability to deliver HR services. Despite there being a substantial amount of discussion about HR professionals' effectiveness, which is featuring massive challenges and opportunities in this innovative age, there is a paucity of information concerning the extent of this subject matter in Pakistan. Therefore, the current study responded to fill this research gap in the context of Pakistan. This research surveyed 40 HR professionals in five techno-based firms in Pakistan. Data were analysed through SEM-PLS. The findings of the study showed that high performance work system significantly influences HR professionals' effectiveness. The study contributed to RBV theory by taking HR professionals' effectiveness as a source of competitive advantage for a firm. The study is also important for HR practitioners and organisations as it highlights the importance of comprehensive HR system, i.e. high performance work system to boost HR professionals' effectiveness to sustain competitive advantage. -
PublicationWhat Makes Human Resource Professionals Effective? An Exploratory Lesson From Techno-Based Telco Firms of a Developing Country( 2022-05-19)

That is due to the need for HR professionals to be effective has risen in the 21st century for gaining sustainable competitive advantage. This research paper aims to examine the level of HR professionals’ effectiveness in Telco firms of Pakistan and explores the strategic functions and their elements, owing to which HR professionals can be effective in fulfilling their tasks and duties. Ten HR executives from five Telco firms were interviewed. The study finds nine key strategic functions along with their forty elements, which indicate the effectiveness of HR professionals. Successful implementation of these strategic functions and their elements offers Telco firms to sustain competitive advantage. Hence, it extends the resource-based view (RBV) theory by accumulating the additional determinants in the context of Pakistan. The research provides the insights for policy makers and practitioners, which explain the key strategic functions and substantial variables through which HR professionals can augment their effectiveness in sustaining competitive advantage. -

This study reports the application of a 6σ project on the improvements of Company X products on time delivery. The methodology adopted in this study is the Define Measure Analyse Improve Control (DMAIC) technique of 6σ. This method is adopted as Six Sigma gives a viable instrument to concentrate on customer prerequisites, through improvements of process quality. Six Sigma projects are performed with the goal of improving on time delivery, in- process quality and product quality. This study describes the application of the Six Sigma methodology, focusing the five phases - Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control, by taking the example of a project, and demonstrates the benefits attained. -

This study aims to explore more information towards the technology innovation that influence the employee performance. This study examines the relationship between advanced robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), electronic monitoring system and teleconferencing with employee performance in manufacturing industry. In addition, this research is intended to examine the relationship between several variables in a quantitative technique. Primary data was used through a total of 398 collected responses from targeted respondents. The questionnaire method is recorded as the research instruments and measurement to collect the quantitative data. The data analysis is performed and discussed. Four hypotheses were tested which demonstrate the significance of technology innovation for employee performance advancement. -

The success and complementary nature of these methodologies has led to their combination into a single methodology, commonly called Lean Six Sigma. It is a key driver in enhancing the continuous improvement opportunity in various industries. Thus, this study aims to explore the Lean Six Sigma approach implementation in small, medium and large scale firms in detail, and apply the DMAIC concept in the recipe recovery and backup project. DMAIC stands for Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. Besides, the knowledge of the study will not limit to Lean Six Sigma analysis and literature analysis in the past. Thus, the findings will assist the subsequence case studies and idea to further improve on other industry process. Besides, it will seize great improvement opportunity in improving the efficiency of the existing process in any fields. Therefore, an analysis was constructed in assisting scholars and practitioners to better understand the concept and the influence of this approach. It helps to eliminate the existing impact of high configuration time and establish an excellent operational process in manufacturing. By applying the Lean Six Sigma methodology, it is targeted to achieve MTTR < 30 minutes after the implementation of centralized recipe backup solution. It is recommendation to use Lean Six Sigma methodology in various industries for continuous improvement such as in cost and quality. -

Therefore, developing entrepreneurial intention among university students is essential. To understand the important areas in shaping and developing entrepreneurial intention among today's undergraduates, this study explores the influence of self-efficacy, role models and entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial intention. Through a quantitative study, 384 sets of questionnaire were distributed to university students in Malaysia, focusing in students enrolling in entrepreneurship program. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 25 is used for data analysis. Based on the correlation and discriminant test, it is established that self-efficacy, role models and entrepreneurship education affects entrepreneurial intention. Therefore, it is suggested that universities should organize more entrepreneurial related activities, programs or workshops which can enhance student's self-efficacy and entrepreneurship education which increases entrepreneurial intention. Additionally, having entrepreneurial role models motivates university students to pursue ambitious goals which increases the entrepreneurial intention among the students.
