    The development of a web-based claims system
    (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2009) ; ;
    The main purpose of this study is to develop a computer system for University Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) staff to make claims via electronic media. Since this system is Web-based, staff can make claims anywhere, anytime and at any locations. This method can overcome not only human errors but also more efficient, fast and accurate. Therefore, this system can also save time, effort, and administrative costs. In this study, active server pages (ASP) has been chosen to make the calculation and also to generate reports. After the system has been developed, a test was conducted using forms that have been simulated manually. The purpose is to enable the researcher to make comparison with the ones made using the developed system in order to detect errors or flaws from the manual simulation in the system.

    WSN technology has now become ubiquitous due to its flexibility, efficiency and affordability. For example the nodes in a WSN can be easily deployed in any targeted area and last for many years. The nodes can supply reliable data from within the environment with minimal disturbance to the target area.However challenges remain in providing real-time communication in some communication hostile conditions. It may not always be possible to leave the sensors in situ but instead data collection is through the use of mobile a WSN. For example as a vehicle fitted with sensing devices passes through an area of interest data is collected and relayed at certain gateway nodes back to a backhaul network for processing.In this paper our aim is to analyse the interference caused by a mobile jammer node to the stationary transmitter and receiver nodes in a network by using the OPNET Modeler software. This is early stage work aimed at developing a mobile WSN node in our future research.

    Customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance for a company to improve its management, service and quality. The aim of this research study is therefore to investigate what are the critical factors in the satisfaction of the parent with childcare services. By using the questionnaire survey, a quantitative approach was used. The questionnaires consist of 21 questions, including the profile of the respondents. The data collected was analysed using the SPSS software and the findings show a positive significant relationship between each of the variables that are babysitter's factors (babysitter's qualification with r=0.506 and p<0.01, babysitter's behaviour with r=0.506 and p<0.01 and babysitter's practice with r=0.303 and p<0.01) towards the satisfaction of the parent. The analysis of reliability, descriptive, correlation and regression were included in the running of the data. Therefore, on the basis of the research findings, the researcher suggests that the childcare centre should continuously improve its services, particularly in terms of qualification, behaviour and practice of babysitters.

    The topic of mobile payment and electronic wallet has been a rising topic since 1984. Since 2003, many scholars are being actively producing articles pertinent to this topic. Most of the articles have been published in journals, and primary language used for research is English. Objective of this paper is to investigate mobile payment and electronic wallet through bibliometric analysis. Sources of publication, authorship, citations, distributions publications and other bibliometric indicators are also analyzed in this paper. This study is focused on a total of 1348 published articles between 1984 and 2021. The articles have been automatically collected through a process from the established Scopus database and then later analyzed with bibliometric indicators analysis techniques. Since 1984, the topic of mobile payment and electronic wallet has been emerged. Beginning in 2003, many articles pertinent to this topic have been actively producing by the scholars. Journals is where most of the articles were published in, and English is the main language used in their publications. China leads other country in publications contribution. In the meantime, the most significant areas in which the sources have been produced were Computer Science, Business, Management & Accounting, Engineering, Social Sciences, Economics, Econometrics and Finance, Decision Sciences, and Mathematics. Though, there are still some limitations were found. For future research, we proposed to lengthen this work to other databases by adding a new keyword such as e-money, as well as bibliometric analysis of mobile payment and electronic wallet in developed and developing countries. This paper presents the latest trends in expansion of academic literature on mobile payment and electronic wallet that uses the bibliometric analysis method. Bibliometric indicators are being used in this paper to present the results.

    Speed optimisation of the mobile PAN coordinator for QoS enhancement in IoT networks
    (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2016) ;
    Robert Stewart
    ;
    Sean Kennedy
    The Internet of Things (IoT) network is typified by deployments such as a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). These WSN's are commonly deployed within a target area for a specific task such as farm monitoring and asset movement control. A group of sensors are typically led by a Personal Area Network Coordinator (PANC). In some situations like in large scale greenhouse monitoring, mobile PANC are required to eliminate energy-hole issues and hence improve the performance of the WSN. The energy-hole issue is a problem caused by the depleted cluster head nodes. In this paper we analyse the performance of a WSN with a mobile PANC. Using inputs from previous empirical studies we designed a scenario of a mobile PAN coordinator using a simulation package. The performance was evaluated. The mobile PANC speed and contact time is monitored and the average network throughput and delay are measured. Based on an analysis of these results a comprehensive set of guidelines are provided for operators of IoT networks. These guidelines optimise the network performance and ultimately lead to cost savings for network providers.

    ;
    Social media has become an important medium to marketers for the expansion of advertising. However, consumers are continuously increasing to avoid social media advertising. Consequently, the potential factors of social media advertising avoidance have appeared as a significant focus of research to offer insights that may come out with the effective ways to reduce social media advertising avoidance. Therefore, the aim of this research is to study about the determinants of social media advertising avoidance in the context of university students. This research analyzed the demographic information, descriptive results, strength of each independent variables towards the dependent variable. Generally, this research is a quantitative study. Pilot test is conducted for 30 respondents and all the variables obtain Cronbach’s alpha more than 0.7 which is acceptable. Simple random sampling technique is applied in this study for data collection as well. 370 sets of questionnaires are distributed to the UniMAP students to collect data. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20 is used to evaluate data of this research. Under the Multiple Linear Regression Analysis, this study finds out that the independent variables of goal impediment, privacy concern and negative experience are related to advertising avoidance positively whereas perceived personalization is related to advertising avoidance negatively. Therefore, this research suggests to the marketers to personalize the social media advertising so that the consumers will less likely to avoid the advertisement. This research suggests the future researchers to get more sample size in order to obtain a better and precise results.

    ;
    Purpose: This study aims to review the last 50 years of academic research on collective leadership (CL) and how far it has progressed by using the Scopus database and the science mapping technique of bibliometric analysis. Design/methodology/approach: This study has analysed 417 publications from the Scopus database on collective leadership from 1967 to 2023. Data were analysed using MS Excel and VOSviewer. Findings: There has been research from different parts of the world on the various aspects of collective leadership. In recent years, collective leadership research has gained momentum. However, collective leadership is still at a nascent level when it comes to the applicability of the concepts. So far, the research on collective leadership has relied on themes such as shared leadership and distributed leadership, how collective leadership differs from other similar-looking leadership styles such as transformational leadership, and how this influences followers’ outcomes such as team effectiveness, achievements, relations, commitment, etc. Most of the research so far has been done in the United States of America, the UK and the Australian context. There exists a huge gap for studying collective leadership in African, Middle Eastern and Asian contexts. Research limitations/implications: Collective leadership research trends may be addressed to enable academics and practitioners to better understand current and future trends and research directions. Future studies in this field might use the findings as a starting point to highlight the nature of the topic. Originality/value: Bibliometric techniques provide a far more comprehensive and reliable picture of the field. This article has the potential to serve as a one-stop resource for researchers and practitioners seeking information that can aid in transdisciplinary endeavours by leading them to recognized, peer-reviewed papers, journals and networks.
