    This paper aims to minimize the travelling time of vehicle routing problem that satisfies the customers’ demands and other constraints by implementing the clustering locations. Mathematical modeling represents the real problem under study and simulation of the distribution products was developed by using a simulation package in order to predict the changes. By adjusting the routes, customers demand and current location of customers, it helps to reduce the traveling and distribution time for vehicles. As a result, by implementing the clustering locations of vehicle routing problem, we predict the company will reduce the traveling time by 50% for the route 1 and 2 and 17% for route 3.

    A report that presented at the World Forum II at The Hague in March 2000, said that it would be water crisis around the world and some countries will be lack of water in 2025, as a result of global studies. Inefficient using of water and considering water as free goods which means it can be used as much as we want without any lost. Thus, it causes wasteful consumption and low public awareness in using water without effort to preserve and conserve the water resources. In addition, the excessive exploitation of ground water for industrial facilities also leads to declining of available freshwater. Therefore, this paper reviews some problems arise all over the world regarding to improper and improving management, policies and methods to determine the optimum model of freshwater price in order to avoid its wasteful thus ensuring its sustainability. In this paper, we also proposed a preliminary model of water pricing represents a case of Medan, North Sumatera, Indonesia.

    Problematic review on water tariff-pricing model and its relation with environment and climate change
    The issue of water security, environment degrade and climate change has becoming more severe today and emergence actions are needed to mitigate the problem. The variability in climate change affected the water resources thus contributes to unstable and uneconomic water price. This problem is worsened by environmental and pollution impact thus led to irrational water tariff and price. Existing model only considers econometric values, but environmental and climate change is neglected from overall structure of water tariff and price. Furthermore, the non-structured water pricing model fails to educate water consumers about excessive use and water scarcity. Therefore, water tariff and pricing mechanisms need to accommodate the changing in environmental degradation and climate change for more rationale and relevant water tariff and price.

    Water is animportant element oflife, hence must be preserved. In addition, thepricing of water supply must be consistent and optimal to ensure its sustainability. Thispaperdescribes thedynamic model in the forms of mathematical (structural)equations translatedfrom the Regulation of the Minister of Domestic AffairsIndonesia,No.23 Year2006. This regulation has been used by Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) Tirtanadi Medan, North Sumatera in determiningthe water price. Themodel consists ofseveraleconomic variables such as minimum wage, inflation,and subsidy that majorly influencedthe forecasted water price

    In this paper, we discussed a literature on blood collection-distribution that based on vehicle routing problem. This problem emergence when the process from collection to stock up must be completed in timely manner. We also modified the mathematical model so that it will suited to general collection of blood. A discussion on its algorithm and solution methods are also pointed out briefly in this paper.

    Signal propagation modelling for vehicle-to-infrastructure communication under the influence of metal obstruction
    Connected car has become one of emerging technology in the automotive industries today. This development preludes a rise in vehicular communication studies that primarily targets radio channel modelling on vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication mode. Considering vehicular obstruction, vast channel propagation studies have focused more on V2V mode while others consider the typical urban scenarios consisting of high traffic volumes of moving vehicles. Due to challenging propagation mechanisms and high complexity in such areas, radio propagation models applied in simulators assume an obstacle-free environment rather than considering the least effect imposed by metal obstruction on communication signal. Besides, there are limited studies pertaining to metal obstruction that considers several under-explored environments such as actual parking lots, junctions and other road infrastructure support. As such, this paper demonstrates signal attenuation analysis caused by the presence of metal objects in low density over obstacle-free environment on actual parking lot via V2I mode. Two scenarios such as LOS and NLOS conditions consisting of obstacle-free, cars and buses as static metal objects are evaluated. The aim of this research is to characterize signal strength caused by metal blockage on radio wave propagation predicated on the presence of vehicles as a subject of obstruction in comparison to obstacle-free vehicular environment. The validity of data is shown through received signal strength indicator (RSSI) and approximation analysis (RMSE) to demonstrate the efficiency of obtained measurements. The results demonstrated that Log-normal shadowing model yields the best fit to low-density metal obstruction scenario with smallest RMSE of 4.78 under bus obstruction whereas 5.72 under car obstruction.

    A Review on Methods to Improve and Balance the Assembly Line
    ( 2020-03-20)

    ;
    Assembly line is well known as an important part in manufacturing process. It consists of several workstations that linked together to create a complete product. Each of workstation is doing their own tasks. However, during the process of item moving from workstation to another workstation to become a finished product, the unbalance of workload among workstation will create a bottleneck effect. This problem will cause the performance of assembly line is not optimal. Therefore, to improve the performance of assembly line, many methods are applied and used to solve assembly line balancing problem. In this paper, different methods which can be used to improve and balance the assembly line are discussed.

    Defect Factor Analysis Using Statistical Process Control Analysis: A Case Study in Spices Defected Packaging Production
    The problems faced by food and beverages in Malaysia are still the emergence of defect products in every production and it escaped from quality control checked thus it reaches the consumer. This study aims to analyze the variability of defects in the production line in XX Food Industries Sdn. Bhd., using p-chart control and fishbone diagram. This company produce a food spices products whether it is well within the control or not and looking for the factors that causing to the defect products. Data collection and information obtained from interviews and documentation for the number of products and production defects for three months in XX Food Industries. The methods used to analyze products quality control by using p-chart, one of the statistical process control and fishbone diagram to determine the cause of defects products. The defects that usually occur in the production line are types of packaging defects such as leaking sachets, eyemark on the sachet sealing, and less product fill in the sachet that cause lightweight sachet. Results showed that products quality control in XX Food Industries Sdn. Bhd. is still controlled by the largest type of defects that are leaking with defects percentage 46.3 and with 36.28% percentage of defects caused by eyemark. Then, followed by defect caused by lightweight is 17.5%. Factors causing defects products are human, machine, work methods, and materials. In this case unskilled worker and the material of the plastic wrapping for the spices packet are primary cause of defects products. This study is useful in providing useful information in identifying causes for rejection or defect analysis. This research also helpful in proposing optimal solution to be implemented for productivity and quality improvement.

    Presently, the arising of industrial revolution has encouraged the advance of technology especially in manufacturing engineering industry. Assembly line balancing (ALB) plays very importance role in manufacturing due to improve the process of efficiency and increase the production rate. In this case, authors have a tendency to study and explore in detail about assembly line balancing problem (ALBP). This paper aims to review the research objectives on ALBP based on 60 articles that try to solve this problem using various approach. In general, this paper performs a survey of ALBP research from 2017 to 2018 in order to see the trend of current study. The publication that listed in this survey have create some division section of ALBP research that describe in short the classification of ALB and the objectives of research. The literature review in research objective may highlight the significant objectives in ALB and provide guidance for future work to look into the research gap.
