However, to obtain engaged employees, requires certain level of work understanding. although research on employee engagement has been growing since 90's, however, little was known to study on the understanding before employee could engaged. This research contributes the gap by using Socialization Theory to explain the theoretical concept of employee engagement. Respondents are from selected hotel employee in northern region in Malaysia. Findings conclude that socialization proses phase 3 which is element of acquire shows significant relationship towards employee engagement of absorption and dedication (P-value< 0.05, t-value >1.645). This research is importance for researcher in the field of human resource to understand better on the construct of employee engagement and its antecedent.

Malaysia is now approaching towards Industrial 4.0. Many initiatives are taken by the government to improve in this digital era. 18.2% contribution towards country's growth domestic product was achieved in 2016 through digital economy which was targeted in 2020 (Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, 2018). This showed a positive sign that the world is accepting the era of digital technologies in many of the industries including in healthcare. The objective of this research is to determine the factor influencing zero-trust among employees in using technologies in healthcare sector. This research proposed a conceptual framework on Zero trust model for digital employees. The contribution in this research is that it may help Malaysian Productivity Corporation have some information that will be useful to Industry4WRD Readiness Assessment. Furthermore, this research hopes will give insight for Malaysia's National Applied Research and Development Centre (MIMOS) for National Internet of Things Strategic Roadmap.

This research addresses the common issue of vulnerabilities emerging during construction projects due to inadequate risk identification and analysis. It aims to mitigate this by creating a comprehensive risk register, documenting potential risk events, their causes, and characteristics. The main goal is to identify prominent risk factors in building construction projects and develop a risk management strategy using this register. The study used purposive sampling and considered 22 indicators, including human resources, cost, materials, equipment, and environmental conditions. Questionnaires were distributed to 50 contractors in the Banda Aceh region. Validity and reliability were confirmed through statistical analysis. The analysis showed that human resources were the most prevalent risk factor. Using a probability impact matrix, five indicators had medium-risk levels, while seventeen indicated low risk. Human resources, materials and equipment, and environmental conditions were identified as dominant risk factors, all at a medium-risk level. The study underscores the importance of addressing human resources risks through a structured risk register, which can significantly improve project management and execution. By systematically assessing and mitigating potential risks, project stakeholders can make informed decisions and enhance project outcomes in terms of timelines, costs, and quality. In conclusion, this research highlights the critical role of risk management in construction projects and emphasizes the value of a comprehensive risk register. Addressing dominant risks proactively can positively impact building construction projects.

Foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows are used to address the economic problems, such as poverty and tourism growth. This paper has identified, after visualizing theoretical standpoints and empirical researches, that there is the linkage between FDI inflows and poverty-GDP nexus focusing on tourism sector. Contrasting with previous studies, this study not only observed the degree of the association between FDI in tourism sector (FDIT) and poverty (POV) but also investigated the relationship between FDIT and tourism growth (TG). While the amount of literature on FDIT, TG and POV using panel data and for singular countries has increased in the last few years, no research has identified the relationships among FDIT, TG and POV together using a growth framework and a simultaneous equation model. The end discussions show that FDIT has bidirectional causal relationships with TG and POV. Therefore, reviewing this chapter it gets confirmed that the research gap prevails in this particular area, that is, neither do a research conducted for evaluation of FDI inflows in tourism impact on poverty and GDP. Thus, in the light of suggestion of theories and empirical literature, this chapter paves the ground of building up a conceptual framework that is to describe the directions in recognizing how FDI inflows in tourism can reduce poverty and stimulate the economic growth and tourism growth.

Malaysia have many cultural heritage sites that become attractions for the development of tourism and technology. This study aims to determine whether tax, exchange rate, unemployment rate, and energy use in Malaysia could affect the tourism sector. Although gross domestic product (GDP) could be used to replace human development in monitoring economic progress and human well-being in relation to tourism, this definition is narrow and focuses on the economic side, and ignores social and cultural factors. The results show that the known relationship could act as a guide for policymakers in achieving greater social and cultural development in order to encourage growth. The methodology employed in this study appears to be very useful for policymakers in developing new approaches to improving the various factors influencing Malaysia's regional and global tourism industry demand for the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2020. In addition, the study provided well-considered policies to increase long-term improvements in the tourism, exchange rate, and service sectors through effective resource management and intelligent resource usage in the tourism industry.

SURVIVE AND THRIVE: DRIVING FACTORS FOR SMES PERFORMANCE IN MALAYSIA
Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to empirically test the relationships between entrepreneurial orientation (EO), total quality management (TQM), and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) performance. It specifically examines whether innovation practices (IPs) mediate the EO, TQM, and SME performance relationships. Design/methodology/approach: A self-administered questionnaire was utilised to collect data from owners/managers of SMEs in Malaysia. The validity and reliability of the instrument were evaluated. Structural equation model utilised to analyse the relationships using PLS 3.3.9. Findings: Statistical outcomes displaying a significant direct effect of EO and IPs on SMEs’ performance, while TQM displayed an insignificant effect on SMEs’ performance. For mediation effect analysis, the indirect effect of EO and TQM on SMEs’ performance through IPs was significant. Research limitations/implications: A sample of manufacturing SMEs was investigated using a quantitative cross-sectional research design. Future research could use qualitative techniques or a longitudinal research design for further information analysis. Practical implications: The research findings provide insights into the owners/managers of SMEs in today’s dynamic manufacturing environment, with a focus on EO and TQM as driving factors to enhance their performance. Originality/value: The research extends the literature on EO and TQM with a comprehensive understanding from the standpoint of Malaysian SMEs.

The purpose of this study is to examine empirically the effect of government spending on healthcare systems on malaysia's economic growth during the early stages of the Covid 19 epidemic. Even as society became aware of the potential dangers of Covid 19, there has been a massive effort to rapidly increase capacity in the healthcare system. In Malaysia, in addition to emphasising the importance of strict adherence to the Movement Control Order (MCO), the government announced an immediate increase in funding for healthcare services as part of the initial phase fiscal policy reply to the Covid 19 outbreak. This study employed Dynamic Panel Data, also identified as a longitudinal study, and collected data over a four-month period, from December 2019 to March 2020, in five Asian countries involved with Covid 19. This study discovered that the Dynamic Panel Data System GMM Estimation model is suitable for interpreting the results, indicating that government expenditure on Covid-19 (p-value = 0.036), unemployment rate and inflation rate have a significant relationship with healthcare sector growth of 1%, 2%, and 5%, respectively. In terms of limitations, such a study only focuses on four months of data from selected Asia countries participating in Covid-19. The findings of panel causality recommend that there are bidirectional links between healthcare sector growth and government spending. Empirical findings suggest that fiscal policy reforms are required to channel healthcare industry growth to increased government spending as a result of Malaysia's fiscal policy.
