Exploitation of the main renewable energy sources (hydraulic, wind and solar radiation) in different installations involves the use of considerable surfaces, whether they are located on land or on water, having a negative impact on the environment. With the aim to dispose this deficiency, an installation that captures and integrates the three renewable resources has been proposed and patented. Therefore, their simultaneous exploitation in order to obtain electricity has the highest efficiency per unit area. In the laboratory, an installation was built and tested that integrates all three sources of renewable energy: The movement of water currents from flowing waters, the movement of air currents and solar radiation. Improvements that have been made to this pilot installation regarding the efficiency increasing of blades will be presented in the present communication, being analyzed the performance of using the profile blades with geometry inspired by nature.

This paper presents an analysis of the mechanism of Belt-Pulley Driven Spray Plunger Pump. Belts and pulleys are used to transfer kinetic energy from the internal combustion (IC) engine to operate the pump. Combination of pulley and belts was used to transfer motion between each other simply without the need for meshed toothed gearing. The principal remains the same that there is a driver (powered) and driven (free). The benefit from application of belts which are mostly made of synthetic fibres is that no lubrication is necessary compared to chains. The analysis is focused on power transmitted from IC engine to plunger pump (design power) considering service factor as well as determining total number of belts to be used in the system with refer to FENNER Friction Belt Range Brochure Technical Docs.

The purpose of this study was to determine the quality and characteristics of pectin in Kepok banana peel using extraction methods. The study refers to the results of optimization (CCD) of pectin with optimum conditions for pectin extraction results predicted at pH (2.5), time and temperature (100 °C). Under optimal conditions, the actual pectin yield was 22.57%. The parameters used are equivalent weight, methoxyl content, galacturonase levels and degree of esterification, qualitative analysis of simple sugars and FTIR characteristics. The results obtained the equivalent weight level of 862.07g/mol, methoxyl content of 3.6% and galacturonic levels or pectin purity of 77.44% and esterification degrees 37.17%. The results of the qualitative analysis of monosaccharides from kepok banana peels pectin showed the presence of arabinose, cellulose, maltose, galactose, fructose and glucose. FTIR characterization results show that functional groups consisting of alcohol groups at 3437cm-1, C-H groups at 2920.32cm-1, C=O groups at 1735.99cm-1, cyclic C-C groups at 1145.75cm-1 and C-O groups at 1016.52cm-1. FTIR spectroscopy with each absorption at a certain wave number shows conformity to the structure of pectin.

Development of sustainable lightweight heat insulation panel from elastomeric and polymeric waste
The project present about development lightweight sustainable heat insulation panel from waste material. Scrap tyres and plastic waste was used for this purpose. The fabrication process started with scrap tyres is being cut and blends into smaller pieces. Then, the pieces of the material of rubber from scrap tyres are mixed together with the plastic waste material polyethylene at different composition. The mixture of the materials is pressed together using hydraulic press machine and heat are applied to melt the material in order to create the panel by using the mould. There are few tests that are conducted to the panel to find out its weight, volume and density. In order to determine the most suitable sample among the sample, a test is carried out to each sample. This test involved the black box or wooden box and the container by using the thermocouple and probes to measure the temperature. From the both test using black box and the container, the most suitable sample that excellent in insulating the heat is the sample with the bigger composition of rubber which are sample with 95% of rubber and 5% of polyethylene polymer.

Survey on customer needs of wheelchair design for big size patient
This paper presents a survey on customer needs on wheelchair design for big size patient weight maximum up to 150kg. As more patients who are overweight are admitted to hospitals, critical care nursing care become more important. In order to design new type of wheelchair for big size patient, customer's needs requirements are very important in early development process. It firmly identified with idea age, idea choice, aggressive benchmarking and foundation of item determinations. The data obtained from this survey is very useful for designer in designing of new type wheelchair for big size patient, which currently not available or very difficult to find in the market.

DFMA method: Analysis on a mechanical sharpener
Creativity and innovation in any organization are vital to its successful performance. Innovate a product have to consists of many different process of design. The flow of design such as identifying the problem of the product, determining the objective of the research, identifying the customer needs, undergoing survey and analysis data to get the list of metrics. Besides that, house of quality and concept generation will help the research to get know whether the design is full fill the customer needs or not. Concept testing will help to identify the final concept selection. Modelling of the final concept can help to show the target marketing to give their own response on this research. Customer needs can help to make the product undergo further improvement.

Design and development of fire escape window grille keyless locking system
The most fire-related fatalities are due to the smoke inhalation of the toxic gases. It is related to the victims being trapped in the building when the building was on fire. It was also reported that major deaths from fire related are from the toxic gases inhalation produced by the fire while the deaths due to fire flames and burning was about one third of the total deaths. The access to the exit door was blocked and they could not exit through the window due to the permanent grille installation. It was well aware that most Malaysian homeowners installed grilles on their house windows or doors for security reason since there are lots of break-ins incidences. To overcome the issue, this work introduces a window grille with keyless locking system. The design incorporated keyless system that can be operated or opened without a key. Several designs for implementing this solution have been described. These designs are divided into three sections, which is a grille design, expansion designs which use to accommodate a wide range of window-sized and keyless locking systems. The size and type of grille suitable for Malaysian residents as well as the more efficient keyless locking system has been studied in detail using the method of case study and survey method. Step of patent research, market analysis and benchmarking are used as methods for collecting reference data. The most effective fire escape window grille keyless locking system has been studied and designed from this project. An important factor in designing a fire window grille is the design that can be opened and does not require a key operation. The results of the design and analysis tested are presented such that they can be used as an aid to the design of fire escape features.
