PublicationOn time delivery improvement - Implementing six sigma DMAIC method( 2021-07-21)
;Salvaragh I.R. ; ; ;Din M.S.H.The likelihood of meeting on time delivery expectation for electronic manufacturer is demonstrated as the productivity's result. It depicts that adequate item is accessible for delivery, permitting the variability in yield, and the likelihood that the item will be sent in the submitted time frame, taking into consideration process duration change. Numerous service firms use delivery time assurances to go after clients in the commercial focus. This study reports the application of a 6σ project on the improvements of Company X products on time delivery. The methodology adopted in this study is the Define Measure Analyse Improve Control (DMAIC) technique of 6σ. This method is adopted as Six Sigma gives a viable instrument to concentrate on customer prerequisites, through improvements of process quality. Six Sigma projects are performed with the goal of improving on time delivery, in- process quality and product quality. This study describes the application of the Six Sigma methodology, focusing the five phases - Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control, by taking the example of a project, and demonstrates the benefits attained.34 7 -
PublicationProduct Optimization via Preventive Maintenance Program: An Investigation in Health Industry( 2024-06-07)
;Idiris S.S.M. ; ; ;Sin K.Y.Preventive Maintenance Program consists of actions that improve the condition of system elements for performance optimization and aversion of unintended system failure or collapse. It involves inspection, servicing, repairing or replacing physical components of machineries, plant and equipment by following the prescribed schedule. It is commonly agreed nowadays that preventive maintenance program can be very successful in improving equipment reliability while minimizing maintenance related costs. The availability of a complex system, such crimping process in production is strongly associated with its parts reliability and maintenance policy. That policy not only has influence on the parts' repair time but also on the parts' reliability affecting the system integrity, degradation and availability. This study was conducted based on the worst-case assessment for cycle run where during this cycle run 1.2mm diameter 316L solid stainless-steel rods; and it is the same material as the connector pin with 0.1mm thicker. This study provides an engineering test result on the evaluation of the Mean Time to Failure (MTTF) of the Connector Pin crimper determined at 17000 cycles.
