Students' Perception in Learning Mathematics across Gender and Ethnicity

This study attempts to integrate students' perceptions in mathematics knowledge in answering and explaining problems of mathematics learning that is presence in the classroom. The survey instrument used in this study called "Students' Perception on Mathematics Survey"(SPMS). All the marks and data gathered were tabulated, summarized, and analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 18. ANOVA analysis was used to analyze the data gathered. The data analysis reveals that there is no relationship between perception in mathematics across gender and ethnicity. It is recommended that future research employs bigger sampling for generalization purposes. In this way, results from this study may help to improve teachers' teaching methods in mathematics as well as to enhance students' academic performance in mathematics.

A systematic review of CTML segmenting principle on computational thinking

This paper reviews systematically articles and journals in the past and current studies on Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning (CTML) segmenting principle and computational thinking. This paper specifically conducted to (i) identify articles that discussed computational thinking (CT) and segmenting principle, (ii) classify the various research domain and context are discussed in previous studies related to segmenting on CT, (iii) synthesis the results that are reported by relevant studies on CT and segmenting principle. The steps taken for these systematic reviews are adapted from PriSMA (2009). Out of 231 articles retrieved, 22 of them were identified for analytical purposes in tandem with the observed theme under keywords searched “computational thinking AND segmenting” and then, those articles are thoroughly reviewed. Our study revealed that the use of CT is most discussed on the programming and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects. Furthermore, this paper pointed out and highlighted that most of the reviewed articles are not related to the segmenting principle even though they are listed as the results of the keywords searched.

A significant percentage of the material in this book is to teach web application development to first year computing students and to non-computing students as well. Having mentioned that, readers can now start to make their own designs and develop their own websites. The concept of this book is to present the context of website fundamentals rather than in details programming. Presumably, students from the computer science and engineering faculties may find that, the contents in this book beneficial and at least be a useful extra reading or as references.

Rather than narrowly concentrating on a mathematical modelling and design, this text looks at the overall tomography design and innovations, from fundamental mathematics to implementing the technique to form a tomography system for agarwood application.

Biometrics is a unique art that exists within a person and allows it to be used to differentiate between one another. These biometrics can be divided into two categories namely behaviour and physical such as face, fingerprint, hand, voice and gait. There are previous studies which examine the personal's characteristic or personality as gender, age, cultural, weight, height, colour of hair etc. This personal's characteristic or personality also known as soft biometric. Several previous studies have shown that the use of soft biometric element (one or combination of elements) in the process of identifying individuals can improve the performance of individual recognition. This paper will elaborate and concludes past studies related to the use of soft biometric elements in KD. Several soft biometric elements applied in various methods of recognition on previous studies have been listed and the results of the studies are compared.

Computational thinking self-efficacy perception for progressive learning in Malaysia: a study of validity and reliability

Recently, researchers from various fields have argued that computational thinking (CT) skills are one of the most significant skills to have in 21st-century higher education; thus, this study was conducted to gather empirical data on the reliability and validity of the computational thinking self-efficacy survey (CTSe) in a Malaysian university setting. This study created a self-efficacy perception measurement tool to measure the CT self-efficacy based on the algorithmic thinking. A content validity testing to three CT content experts using content validity index (CVI) and exploratory factor analysis (EFA) were conducted to validate the CTSe items. A total of 127 university students participated in the CTSe survey via an online survey platform. The data gathered from the online survey were analysed for EFA and reliability analysis in order to study the CTSe's validity and internal consistency. Researcher foresees that this study can offer an insight into integrating the CT concepts in designing future learning materials.

Langkawi terkenal sebagai destinasi percutian. Terdapat pelbagai tawaran pelancongan yang disediakan di sana. Penduduk tempatan boleh mendapat manfaat bersama dengan dapat menyediakan rumah tumpangan. Namun begitu, apabila wujudnya begitu banyak hotel, saingan menjadi meningkat. Mereka sukar memasarkan perkhidmatan rumah tumpangan. Selain itu, pelancong berasa selesa dengan penggunaan peta walaupun ianya mempunyai saiz fizikal besar untuk dibawa ke mana-mana. Inisiatif penyelidik dalam membangunkan video interaktif adalah supaya memudahkan pelancong untuk akses ke tempat yang ingin dituju hanya melalui gadget masing masing. Model reka bentuk dan pembangunan Alessi dan Trollip telah digunakan bagi pembangunan video interaktif. Satu penilaian dilakukan bagi mendapatkan maklum balas video. Hasilnya merupakan pendapat dan penambah baikan bagi video interaktif ini.

The development and feasibility testing of learner-paced digital video courseware

Since the COVID-19 epidemic across the world happen, educators are enthusiastic to use technology to aid students in their learning. The young adults specifically the university students are becoming more and more dependent on digital technology thanks to simple access through technology devices. The learning environments among university students are drastically change due to the COVID-19 epidemic which has highlighted the importance of digital video in teaching and learning. This paper aims to highlight the development of digital video learning courseware and the findings of its pilot testing. Researcher conducted pilot testing in investigating the use of digital video and its effects on students’ knowledge achievement, computational thinking (CT) self-efficacy perception, and perceived motivation. The results of pilot test indicated that the digital video learning courseware is a valid and reliable learning courseware for providing digital video knowledge to university students. This article describes the development of the courseware as well as the pilot testing.

The Development of an Interactive Animation to Prevent Social Media Fraud

Technology is the creation, invention, methods or systems of something new that has the purpose to overcome human's limitation, so that the creation can help human to complete the task that they cannot do. However, the world is getting advanced day-by-day, and so do the online frauds, where it is getting more types due to the ease of these technologies. People would use these advanced technologies to scam others, especially through social media. Thus, the number of online scam seems to be rising, and it is an appropriate action that someone does to bring benefits only for themselves. This paper is about the development of an interactive animation to increase the awareness of social media frauds among people and ways to prevent it. Subsequently, we created an animation that can raise the awareness of social media fraud among people, and hence they can also learn effective ways to prevent social media fraud from happening.

Social Media Cyberbullying: Awareness and Prevention through Anti Cyberbully Interactive Video (ACIV)

The development of ACIV is carried out to increase youth awareness about cyber bullying. Yet, the development of ACIV not just beneficial for youth, also to be good for the society which help to decrease the number of criminal cases such as vandalism, violence and several tragedies such as murder cases and committing suicide. In this project, the development of interactive video about anti cyberbully will be carried out to help youth to increase their awareness of cyberbullying and the way to prevent and tackle cyberbullying cases. Previous cyberbullying cases which lead to committing suicide will be imitated in Anti Cyberbully Interactive Video (ACIV). Therefore, this study aims to develop the interactive video about anti cyberbullying (ACIV).
