Abstract
The current work studies the effect of organo-montmorillonite addition in epoxy through compressive test. Epoxy/organo-montmorillonite was prepared based on diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) and isophorondiamine (IPDA) as the curing agent with stoichiometry amine amount. In this study, the incorporation organo-montmorillonite in epoxy matrix was varies from 1, 3, 5 and 8phr loading content. The assessments showed the presence of organo-montmorillonite at 3phr loading content in the composites system improve the compressive properties compare to origin epoxy. The increment in compressive properties also been supported by quantitative x-ray diffraction analysis.
