This paper presents a new approach to mitigating resonant frequency shift for deformed flexible antennas. Deformation or bending adversely affects the antenna resonant frequency and this magnitude of the frequency shift could depend on key factors such as the material used and the antenna structure. The frequency reconfiguration concept was used with two proof of concept switches to investigate the effectiveness of the proposed method to shift back the frequency to its original resonant. The antenna was first designed to operate at 2.48 GHz frequency. Utilizing the frequency reconfiguration, the antenna can be re-tuned to 2.48 GHz even under bending conditions.
