Abstract
Nowadays, youth bankruptcy has become a trend, and even though the economic conditions are unstable, youth are still having the thought of having excessive lifestyle. The rate of youth bankruptcy become severe issues as statistic from insolvency Malaysia shows the number is increasing. This happens due to the behavior of excessive lifestyle that leading youth daily life. There are studies done in the area of youth bankruptcy, however, in this crucial time in Malaysia, it is importance to understand youth awareness in current situation. 160 respondents were involved in this study. Using Structural equation modeling, the result indicates that the factor of excessive lifestyle does moderate the relationship between personal financial management and youth bankruptcy awareness. This research contributes to the body of knowledge in terms of understanding youth behaviour by using self-regulation theory which adapting psychological theory towards understanding the youth financial behaviour.
