Abstract
A new joining method, termed Metal Inert Gas welding with Lap configuration, was attempted to weld Mild Steel to Aluminum Alloy. The mechanical strength was investigated using tensile test. The results indicated that, the Mild Steel with two holes have the maximum ultimate tensile strength of 100.57 MPa. Conclusively the optimum parameters for AA6061 to the Mild Steel welding can be achieved at two holes' configuration with 17 V voltage, Wire feed 3 m/min and Shielding Gas 10 L/min.
