| dc.description.abstract | The Saliran Mesra Alam (MSMA) Manual is the drainage guideline issued by Malaysia’s Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID). MSMA’s key concept was based on management as a source strategy; it was linked to how to treat the stormwater instead of washing it out as efficiently as possible in order to do it more effectively. This study stresses the estimation of public opinion and acceptance of the Saliran Mesra Alam (MSMA) Manual. This study aimed to define the level of MSMA sensitivity. The questionnaire was divided into three parts which were Sect. 1 (Satisfaction Current Stormwater Scenario in Malaysia), Sect. 2 (MSMA Society Recognition) and Sect. 3 (MSMA Manual Awareness Perception). The data were gathered using a questionnaire survey system involving 200 respondents, including government agencies, private sectors, lecturers, students, and others. The results of this survey indicated that nearly 70% of respondents were aware of MSMA’s existence, and 93% of respondents were strongly agreed to support MSMA’s concept. In conclusion, it indicates that most respondents agreed to have rooms for development with respect to MSMA implementation and ready to move from a conventional drainage system to MSMA. | |
