dc.description.abstract Mathematical modeling of Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) plants currently usually exist before implementation across the globe and they rely on using mirrors to concentrate solar irradiation onto thermal receivers. The receivers contain a working fluid, usually water, which is heated to form steam capable of driving a steam turbine connected to an electrical generator, thus producing electricity. The proposed project involves replacing the traditional mirrors with spot Fresnel lenses, which could enable having a generation system at a smaller scale ready to be installed at residential areas. To further enhance the system, it will involve sun-tracking technology which will allow the full utilization of the sun's energy. The project adheres with green engineering design in mind as it suits any geographic location. It also includes a desalination unit to provide drinking water to users in urban areas. The desalination mechanism depends on the condensation of the residual vapor as a bypass product of the generation unit to produce distilled water.
