Abstract
Numerical simulation of transesterification reaction was carried out in Y-shaped microreactor. The effects of inlet pressures, temperatures and oil molar ratio towards conversion of triglyceride was examined. The inlet pressure ranging from 0.001 to 0.1 Pa, three different temperature of 25, 50 and 75 ℃ together with alcohol to oil molar ratio of 12:1, 9:1 and 6:1 was simulated via COMSOL Multiphysics software. The temperature of 50 ℃ and alcohol to oil molar ratio of 12:1 shows high biodiesel yield at lowest inlet pressure of 0.001 Pa applied. On top of that, the inlet pressure has substantial impact of the biodiesel yield which is the conversion of triglyceride measured in this studied.
