The impact of flexibility and responsiveness on the financial performance in Malaysia’s manufacturing industry during the COVID-19 pandemic

In order to combat the disruption caused by COVID-19, it is essential for the company's operations to implement flexibility and responsiveness in their work. In this study, the researchers will investigate the effect of these two variables on the financial performance of the company. The current study evaluates the data obtained from 215 manufacturing companies in Malaysia. The data is collected and analysed using PLS-SEM in order to provide an in-depth look at the issue. The results show that flexibility and responsiveness are positively related to a company's financial condition. The primary contribution of this study is to provide the management of company with a ground-breaking idea of dealing with a pandemic situation in the current business environment. A company's capacity to survive also depends on planning changes, particularly those that affect supply chain management and production operations. When making tough decisions, managers must be less rigid and more flexible. Demand management, inventory management, supply chain management, and operation management are some of the things that call for flexibility and responsiveness. The business will experience losses if they are unable to meet the demands of the COVID-19 era and maintain business operations. Of course, this will have an impact on the company’s financial performance.

Examination of gender equality towards education, employment and family management among employees of the Malaysian higher education institutions

The purpose of this research is to examine the perception on gender equality towards several key terms which are related in measuring gender equality in the context of Malaysian Higher Education Institutions (HEI). Specifically, this study aims to reveal the perception of employees in the HEIs located in the Northern Region of Malaysia pertaining to several concerns which are related to education, employment and family management. This research is carried out by using a quantitative method through the distribution of the self-directed Google Form questionnaires. Convenient sampling is utilized in this research. The sample size consisted of 370 employees of those institutions who have participated voluntarily to involve in the study. In the terms of education, results showed a different perception towards completing education in the secondary and tertiary education. Based on the descriptive analyses, results presented a high level of perception on women and employment (μ=3.46); and a medium level of perception on women and family management (μ=2.93) among employees in this study. In the current scenario, the HEIs should actively increase the level of perception towards education, employment and family management among their employees in order to ensure the overall goals of gender equality for the nation could be achieved.

Examining the impact of influencers and bloggers on behavioral intentions among youth in Sindh Pakistan

This study examines the impact of attitude, social media influencers, electronic word of mouth (e-WOM), and credibility on behavioral intention among Pakistani youth towards the textile industry. An online survey was distributed with the help of an adapted questionnaire from past studies. A total of 200 cases were considered in this study, and reliability analysis and regression analysis were performed in SPSS version 25. The findings revealed that all independent variables of attitude, social media influencers, e-WOM and credibility are positively and significantly impacted behavioral intention. In detail, results presented that attitude is positively and significantly affect behavioral intention (β=.152, p=.048), social media influencer is positively and significantly affected behavioral intention (β=.176, p=.023), e-WOM is positively and significantly affect behavioral intention (β=.174, p=.022), and credibility is positively and significantly affected behavioral intention (β=.154, p=.021). Social media influencer was found to have a more significant impact on the behavioral intentions of the youth of Pakistan due to higher beta values than the other independent variables. Therefore, policymakers in the textile industry can consider these variables to attract Pakistani Youth towards their behavioral intention in the future.

Viable Supply Chain Management toward Company Sustainability during COVID-19 Pandemic in Malaysia

Since the pandemic first appeared in early 2020, the manufacturing industry across the globe has experienced a decline. Concerns regarding public health were present at the start of the new decade, and as the pandemic reached its peak in March 2020, manufacturers all over the world were forced to contend with high demand, reduced workforce requirements, subsequent lockdowns, and major disruptions to their supply chains to prevent the global spread of the pandemic. No research has been done on the interaction of these variables because the idea of VSCM is still relatively new, particularly in Malaysia’s manufacturing industry. The purpose of this study is to present management researchers with a novel idea for coping with a pandemic situation in today’s business environment. Furthermore, the purpose of this research is to determine VSCM practices that contribute to company sustainability so that such future incidents can be controlled and revamped. The report also advocated a VSCM framework to improve supply chain resilience and sustainability. This study’s objective is to analyze the relationship between viable supply chain management (VSCM) practices and company sustainability for manufacturing companies in Malaysia during the COVID-19 pandemic. 197 respondents from Malaysian manufacturing companies were surveyed using a quantitative approach. Using PLS-SEM analysis, all surveys are examined. As a result, the direct relationship between VSCM and company sustainability has demonstrated a significant positive effect. The implication of this study is to strengthen the viability and reliability of viable supply chain management and contribute further to the COVID-19 outbreak’s impact on company sustainability. Moreover, a successful supply chain model would guarantee that manufacturers are compelled to respond swiftly to safeguard and support their employees and maintain operations that are critical lifelines for consumers and communities.

The impact of viable supply chain management on sustainability in Malaysian manufacturing companies during the COVID-19 pandemic: the moderating role of government support

This study examines the impact of viable Supply Chain Management (SCM) on the long-term viability of Malaysian manufacturing enterprises during the COVID-19 epidemic. It specifically studies how government support can moderate this relationship. The pandemic's unprecedented disruptions have emphasised the vital need for resilient supply chains to guarantee ongoing operations and achieve sustainability goals. This study employs a quantitative approach to investigate the influence of effective SCM on the long-term viability of companies. Survey questions were distributed to a total of 488 respondents, consisting of upper-level employees of manufacturing companies in Malaysia. The study has employed a stratified random sampling process. The study utilise data from 197 manufacturing enterprises in Malaysia, which is examined using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings suggest that organisations with robust and flexible supply networks were more capable of sustaining their operations and attaining their sustainability objectives. Contrary to expectations, the data indicate that government support did not have a moderating effect on the connection between VSCM practices and corporate sustainability. To improve sustainability and ensure operational continuity during times of crisis, the report emphasises the importance of investing in and cultivating resilient supply chain procedures for industry professionals. The findings indicate that governments should reevaluate the processes and effectiveness of government support given to companies during disruptive events. This calls for a more nuanced approach to the development and execution of policies.

The critical success factor of risk management towards safety and health performance in manufacturing industry

Risk management provides an idea or method to top management in creating a successful approach to addressing the risks inherent in an organisation. Risk management is the act of identifying opportunities for maximizing risk management and minimizing any risks that may arise while implementing processes within the organisation. In this study, risk management is a method of measuring and solving problems that can identify, evaluate and conduct research at each risk and maximize success and minimize problems involving high risk in the future that occur within an organisation. The objective of the study is to identify the relationship between the critical success factor of risk management toward safety and health performance in manufacturing industry. The risk of workplace accidents is increasing and the manufacturing sector is among the most at risk for workplace accidents in terms of permanent disability, permanent disability and death. This research is quantitative method and used questionnaire to collect data. Total 267 questionnaires were distributed in manufacturing companies in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. Based on the regression analysis result, there is significant relationship between critical success factors of risk management towards safety and health performance in manufacturing industry.

The mediating effect of work culture on the relationship between total quality management and employee performance in Malaysia manufacturing industry

Total Quality Management (TQM) is a management philosophy and operational style centered on continuous improvement in all processes, goods, and services, with the goal of continually exceeding present and future expectations of all stakeholders. TQM is critical to the organization's ability to compete in the global marketplace. The main objective of this study is to develop a TQM performance model with the work culture as mediator. A total of 350 questionnaires were delivered to ten Malaysian manufacturing enterprises, yielding a useful sample of 294 completed surveys (84.0 percent usable response rate). The questionnaire was subjected to reliability and validity testing. The association was predicted and estimated using statistical analysis and regression. The model was assessed using Analysis of Moment Structure (AMOS) based Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The results revealed that TQM methods had a considerable impact on employee performance, with work culture acting as a mediating factor. The findings also reveal that work culture moderated the association between TQM and employee performance to some extent.
