PublicationThe study of socio-demographic variables on youths' patriotism using non-experimental design( 2023-04-24)
; ; ;Othman N.Z.The objectives of this study is to examine sociodemographic as variables of youth patriotism tendencies in Malaysia. The total population was 3107 while the sample was 351 which was selected through simple random sampling method (N=351). This survey study used a questionnaire constructed using adaptations from previous studies. Study findings were analysed using T-Test and ANOVA to obtain and compare mean values. In general from the 351 respondents, 29.1% of the respondents were male youth compared to 70.9 % of female youth. Respondents aged less than 20 years were 15.7 %, 21 to 22 years was 65.8 %, 23 to 25 years was 17.9 % and 26 to 28 years was 0.6 per cent. Almost half of the respondents are Malays (44.4%) Chinese (9.5%), India (4.4%) and other ethnic groups (4.1%). Therefore, Muslim respondents also showed a higher percentage than other religions (45.9%). The results of data analysis show that there is a significant difference between the tendency of patriotism with gender, ethnicity, religion and parental employment. -
PublicationTeacher's view on leadership style and job satisfaction handling online learning during COVID-19 in Malaysia( 2023-06-12)
; ; ; ;Othman N.Z.The covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on teachers and students contributing to stress among them. Among the challenges for teachers when conducting teaching and learning activities from home are internet accessibility, teaching aids, support from parents and school leadership concerns. The leadership aspect is seen to be one of the challenges among teachers and this needs to be examined at the leadership level. Therefore, the role of the leader is important to ensure that all leadership approaches that can be highlighted can provide satisfaction among teachers. This study aimed to look at teachers' views on the leadership style practiced and the level of job satisfaction of teachers when conducting online teaching and learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. A total of 102 teachers in Penang were selected using simple random sampling technique as respondents in this study. The findings of the study show that all three leadership styles practiced are at a high level. Transformational leadership styles obtained a mean value of 4.08, while transformational and laissez-faire leadership styles obtained the same mean value of 3.71. The findings also show that job satisfaction is at a high level with a mean value of 4.04. The findings of this study are expected to be used as a guide to administrators, teachers and also the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE). -

; ; ;Othman N.Z.This study aimed to examine the effect of leadership style on job satisfaction among teachers handling online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The leadership styles studied were transformational leadership style, transactional leadership style and Laissez Faire leadership style. Data were collected through quantitative methods by distributing questionnaires. The respondents of the study consisted of 102 government school teachers in Seberang Perai District, Penang. The study was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social sciences (SPSS) software to obtain Pearson Correlation Value. The findings of the study indicate that there is a significant relationship between transformational leadership style, transactional style and Laissez-Faire leadership style with job satisfaction among teachers.1 23
