Abstract
The covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on teachers and students contributing to stress among them. Among the challenges for teachers when conducting teaching and learning activities from home are internet accessibility, teaching aids, support from parents and school leadership concerns. The leadership aspect is seen to be one of the challenges among teachers and this needs to be examined at the leadership level. Therefore, the role of the leader is important to ensure that all leadership approaches that can be highlighted can provide satisfaction among teachers. This study aimed to look at teachers' views on the leadership style practiced and the level of job satisfaction of teachers when conducting online teaching and learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. A total of 102 teachers in Penang were selected using simple random sampling technique as respondents in this study. The findings of the study show that all three leadership styles practiced are at a high level. Transformational leadership styles obtained a mean value of 4.08, while transformational and laissez-faire leadership styles obtained the same mean value of 3.71. The findings also show that job satisfaction is at a high level with a mean value of 4.04. The findings of this study are expected to be used as a guide to administrators, teachers and also the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE).
