Abstract
Pervious pavements have been making significant contributions to the urban stormwater management for many years. In this paper, the hydrological quantity and stormwater quality performance of various types of pervious pavements from the research works carried out by previous studies were reviewed. The laboratory scale and field work demonstrated that the performance of pervious pavements was superior as compared to the conventional pavements in reducing the hydrological quantities of stormwater such as surface runoff, total volume, and peak flow. Besides, the application of pervious pavements also helps to improve the physical, chemical, and biological quality of stormwater. Thus, the benefits of pervious pavements application in urban areas and developments are proven although further research studies are required in some area of application.
