Abstract
Ample studies have emphasized the importance of career choice among students all over the world with different views. The aim of this present study is to determine the impact of self, community roles and organizational culture factors towards career choice among Jordanian Students. A descriptive approach was employed to achieve the objectives of the study. The survey questionnaire was used to collect data from a selected sample of 500 students from the population of 52,500. The random sampling method was used to select the sample and data for analysis was collected cross-sectionally. All the 500 questionnaires were returned leading to a response rate of 100%. Statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 22 was used to perform the data analysis. The results reveal that there is a significant impact of organizational cultural factors, the role of family, the community and educational qualifications on career choice among Jordanian students. More so, cultural factors (organizational values, organizational beliefs, organizational expectations) have a significant impact on career choice among Jordanian students. Therefore, this study concluded that self, community role, and cultural factors will immensely determine the career choice of a student in Jordan. Based on the findings of this study, it was recommended that Jordanian schools need to increase awareness of the importance of professional choice as one of the most important concepts that contribute to the presentation of creative ideas and innovations in the development of teaching methods and methods of leadership. A further recommendation is that schools should develop the dimensions of organizational culture, especially organizational values, in view of their importance in guiding students towards organizational behaviour that can achieve their desired goals. In conclusion, the benefits for practitioners and academia was finally discussed under the theoretical and practical contributions, while necessary suggestions for future research were highlighted.
