Abstract
This article proposes a new design of a triangular microstrip patch antenna using a coplanar waveguide and defected ground surface technique for use in 28 GHz 5G network communication. The antenna is designed using a Rogers RT 5880 substrate with a relative permittivity (ϵr) of 2.2, a substrate height (h) of 0.5 mm, and a loss tangent (tan) of 1.9. The simulation results that have been carried out show the return loss of -19.770 dB and a VSWR of 1.229. The working frequency of this antenna is 27.85 GHz and the frequency of the setting is obtained by adjusting the length and width of the feed and the dimensions of the patch on the antenna. The antenna bandwidth obtained is 2.036 GHz.
