Abstract
One of the most mutual methods of transforming plastics from the raw material form of an item of use is the process of injection molding. This procedure is usually designed for thermoplastic materials which might be continually molten, reformed and chilled. The most common defect in the injection molding process is warpage. This defect can be minimized by conducting simulation and optimization method. In this study, Autodesk Moldflow Insight software used to conduct simulation method and identify recommended parameter setting. Design Expert was used to conduct Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and also to recognise the significant parameter effected the simulation. For Firefly Algorithm (FA) optimization method, MATLAB software were used to identify optimum value of warpage. As the result of this study, the most significant parameter is melt temperature. By using the FA optimization method, the value of warpage able to reduce 14.36%.
