Abstract
This study investigated the effects of silver acetate as additive in the polysulfone (PSf) membrane. The ultrafiltration membrane was prepared via phase inversion technique at different contents of silver acetate concentration. The morphology study were conducted on the prepared membrane via Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) for cross section image. The porosity and mean pore size of membrane were carried out by using permeation testing unit. Based on the result obtained, the cross section areas of membrane were carried out by using the SEM and result with a better microstructure of membrane especially at top layer and sub layer. Also, PSf membrane incorporating with silver acetate as additive shows better pore size with porosity of 0.58% compared to unfilled PSf membrane. In addition, this study revealed that 2g to 3g of silver acetate had the good morphology, better pore size distribution and porosity.
