A Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) study is conducted on the inkjet printer which is Canon Multifunction Printer Pixma K10355 in response to decrease the manufacturing cost and assembly time of the product (i. e., eliminated parts). The primary goal of this study is to analyse design efficiency of the current design of inkjet printer using DFMA needs, to redesign the inkjet printer to improve the design efficiency using DFMA approach and lastly to evaluate the assembled parts selected and to address the parts count reduction using Boothroyd Dewhurst DFMA software tool in order to achieve the lowest possible manufacturing cost while meeting the customer's new expectations for a simple design, less part count and using the same material for the whole parts if possible.
