Thermal properties and mass spectra of heavy mesons in the presence of a Point-Like defect

In this research, the radial Schr¨odinger equation is solved analytically using the Nikiforov-Uvarov method with the Cornell potential. The energy spectrum and the corresponding wave function are obtained in close form. The effect of Topological Defect on the thermal properties and mass spectra of heavy mesons such as charmonium and bottomonium are studied with the obtained energy spectrum. It is found that the presence of the Topological Defect increases the mass spectra and moves the values close to the experimental data. Our results agreed with the experimental data and are seen to be improved when compared with other works.

Information entropies with Varshni-Hellmann potential in higher dimensions

This work investigates the behavior of Shannon entropy and Fisher information for the Varshni-Hellmann potential (VHP) in one and three dimensions using the Nikiforov-Uvarov method. We employ the Greene-Aldrich approximation scheme to obtain the energy eigenvalues and normalized wavefunctions, which are then used to calculate these information-theoretic quantities. Our analysis revealed remarkably similar high-order features in both position and momentum spaces. Notably, our calculations showed enhanced accuracy in predicting particle localization within position space. Furthermore, the combined position and momentum entropies obeyed the lower and upper bounds established by the Berkner-Bialynicki-Birula-Mycieslki inequality. Additionally, for three-dimensional systems, the Stam-Cramer-Rao inequalities were fulfilled for different eigenstates with respect to the calculated Fisher information. It is observed that as the position Fisher entropy decreases, indicating a more precise measurement of position, the momentum Fisher entropy must increase. This implies that the Fisher information regarding momentum decreases, resulting in a decrease in the precision of momentum measurement. This demonstrates how position and momentum uncertainties complement each other in quantum mechanics. Exploring the balance between position and momentum Fisher entropy reveals a fundamental aspect of the uncertainty principle in quantum mechanics, highlighting the restrictions on measuring certain pairs of conjugate variables simultaneously with high precision.

Non-Relativistic treatment of the 2D electron system interacting via Varshni–Shukla potential using the asymptotic iteration method

The nonrelativistic treatment of the Varshni–Shukla potential (V–SP) in the presence of magnetic and Aharanov–Bohm fields is carried out using the asymptotic iteration method (AIM). The energy equation and wave function are derived analytically. The energy levels are summed to obtain the partition function, which is employed to derive the expressions for the thermomagnetic properties of the V–SP. These properties are analyzed extensively using graphical representations. It is observed that in the various settings of the analysis, the system shows a diamagnetic characteristic, and the specific heat capacity behavior agrees with the recognized Dulong–Petit law, although some slight anomaly is observed. This irregular behavior could be attributed to a Schottky anomaly. Our findings will be valuable in a variety of fields of physics, including chemical, molecular and condensed matter physics, where our derived models could be applied to study other diatomic molecules and quantum dots, respectively.

Influence of perturbations on linear and nonlinear optical properties of quantum dot

This study focused on investigating the influence of perturbations on the linear and nonlinear optical properties of GaAs/ Ga1-xAlxAs screened modified Kratzer potential (SMKP) quantum dot (QD). The optical absorption coefficients (OACs) and refractive index changes (RICs) for GaAs/ Ga1-xAlxAs have been presented. The density matrix and iterative approaches were used to derive expressions of OACs and RICs in SMKP QD. The diagonalization method has been used to obtain energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of GaAs/ Ga1-xAlxAs SMKP QD under the effects of Al concentration-x, hydrostatic pressure, and temperature. Our results reveal that the Al concentration-x, hydrostatic pressure, and temperature greatly impact the position and amplitude of the resonant peaks of the linear and nonlinear OACs and RICs. Interpretations have been presented in detail. The results of this study will find applications in the optical physics of semiconductors and other systems.
