PublicationHeritage building modelling: Photogrammetry challenges in producing an as built drawing (ABD) Using Unmanned Aerial System (UAS)( 2021-03-01)
; ; ;Tracking the heritage building changes has been a primary concern in an architectural works, as the building features may transformed due to periodic of time. In addition, the perseverance of heritage buildings seems taken lightly due to the eagerness of the Malaysian architect in designing urban anxious architectural features for the new building development. Therefore, in order to preserve the delicate features in heritage building; the development of an 'As Built Drawing' (ABD) is crucial. Plotting the ABD has several laidback which includes the reachability of the human to measure the building on site. Hence, technology acceleration using Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) has provided an instrument to develop ABD without risking human's lives. Prior to development of ABD, there are several challenges in the implementation, specifically on the photogrammetry area. The photogrammetry phase in this research is crucial, as the ambiguous imaging captured can caused the misrepresentative Building Modelling replication. Therefore, the research aims to identify the imaging challenges during the progression of producing the ABD using UAS technology. With aid of the 3D Laser Scanner, the instrumental parameters have been set up, and data were recorded. On field data were collected in heritage building in Masjid Alwi Kangar. The ABD has been produced and the challenges arose from the implementation were bountiful to discuss. The research found that, the imaging challenges were the imperative parameters to tackle in order to score the accuracy in producing ABD using UAS technology.3 30 -
PublicationAnalysis on the Relationship Between Safety Culture and Complexity Factors in Marine Construction Safety Performances( 2023-10-04)
; ; ; ;Rahim N.S.A. ;Rashid N.F.A.Safety is vital in reducing the possibilities of an accident and by increasing the safety measures in the workplace it may lead to the performance of the project. To improve the safety measures especially in marine construction project, the influence factors that contribute to safety culture factor must be studied and analyzed. However, the complexity factor that occurs during the implementation is important to be considered. Therefore, the objective of this research is to discover the relationship between safety culture and complexity factors towards marine construction safety performance. The correlation analysis was performed using Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient to measure the strength of relationship between the influenced factors. The results show that all the factors have strong linear correlation and the findings are beneficial to be used as framework to practical parties to improve their safety culture performances specifically in marine construction.1 30 -
PublicationHeritage building design properties: Development of as built drawing by uav application via 3d laser scanner( 2020-01-01)
; ; ;Inadequate information that represent the existing figure of the building after transmission of years and the eagerness of the Malaysian’s architect to develop frantically modern development design that gradually neglecting the essence of cultural perseverance of the heritage building has been brawled excessively. Taking a human – factor constraint to conducted the physical survey, the technologies such as computers and digital media have given beneficial value that are time saving and less risky. Hence, the research aim for the development of the as-built drawing for Masjid Alwi, Kangar, Perlis has been completed via UAV application and 3D laser scanner, and results were recorded on the structural and architectural properties of Masjid Alwi that has been analyzed accordingly. Therefore, the needs of having an adequate as-built drawing due to the depletion of the ancient documentation and as a baseline for the designer maintaining the cultural identity in a way to design new development is imperative and possible with the aid of UAV application and 3D scanning.3 37 -
PublicationBuilding Information Modelling (BIM) as an UAV Information Processor for Generating an 'As Built Drawing'( 2020-11-24)
; ;The heritage building is a valuable asset to humans and countries due to the grandeur symbolization and the dignity representation of a country. However, the dramatic changes on the historical building physical feature has been documented poorly. Subsequently, the depletion of the building information has making the maintenance works intricate. On site surveying might difficult due to the safety issue that putting manpower into risky circumstances. Advance technology may allow many to obtain information using aid of remote sensing, photogrammetry, geographic information system (GIS) and 3D laser scanning. The projection of the As Built Drawing might possible without utilisation of BIM as an analyser for the raw information congregated. Thus, the objective of this research is to develop an 'As Built Drawing' for heritage building using Building Information Modelling (BIM) as an information processor. The methodology involved the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) application and Terrestrial Laser Scanner, photogrammetry image then been analysed using BIM. The identification of design properties of heritage building was obtained which consisted of architectural properties and structural properties. Therefore, the development of 'As Built Drawing' will be produced completely using BIM and in the other hand solving the problem on facilities management on the historical building.1 22
